1. Professional Spider Control

Our Approach to Spider Control in Maryland, D.C., and Virgina Homes

Getting rid of spiders is precisely what our pest control experts are trained to do. Whether you have spiders in the basement, in the kitchen, or your bathroom, the key to a spider-free home is finding and eliminating the food sources.

Spiders are attracted to any spaces that provide them with food, especially lots of insects that can be trapped in webs or chased down. They prefer areas that are rarely cleaned or otherwise disturbed, which is why dark basements, attics, garages, and outbuildings so often are homes to spiders.

In order to keep your home free of spiders it's crucial to have a regular pest service that keeps both insects and spiders controlled. Pests problems won't be solved overnight, and eliminating just one pest will increase the activity of other intruders.

When you hire one of our spiders exterminators, you get a high-quality individual who has been trained in the biology of spiders, who will come to your home armed with all the supplies necessary to get the job done right. He or she will talk with you about your spider problem, provide a thorough inspection, and begin treatments right away.

How We Do It

Common Spiders Found in Maryland, Virginia and DC

Maryland, DC and Northern Virginia are home to a variety of different species of spiders.  The most notable spiders to be found in Baltimore, Washington DC, Alexandria, and throughout our region include:

Black Widow

They are roughly ½ inch in length, appearing oily black in color, and include any number of defining reddish marks. They're generally found outdoors, preferring dark, undisturbed corners in basement window wells, barns, garages, and other structures. Although rarely resulting in death, the black widow bite is venomous.

Brown Recluse Spider

The brown recluse body is about 1/3rd of an inch in length with long, shiny, smooth legs.  The top, front of this spider is marked with a dark brown, violin-shaped design. They prefer to live in quiet, undisturbed places and bites usually occur when humans accidentally contact with them while cleaning out under beds, in beds, in garages or while rummaging through boxes of old clothing.

Wolf Spiders

Wolf spiders are large, hairy spiders that can grow to nearly an inch in length. These spiders live solitary lives, but do not sit quietly in webs waiting for their prey. Wolf spiders are often feared by humans (due to their great size) but they seldom bite and are not considered dangerous.

What You Should Do

If you have seen either of these spiders is better to call a professional that can take care of it properly. Even though house spiders are not known to be aggressive, some of them bite can venomous to humans, and also can cause frustration because of their habit to abandon and rebuild webs.

In case you haven't seen any spiders yet, they may not be an issue now. But, if insects are making a home here, it's also a good opportunity for spiders to start showing up around your home and finding a way to get in. Talk with one of our spider experts right now and discover how we can protect your loved ones from these unexpected guests.

I wanted to write to say how impressed I am with your entire crew and the general way you operate. Everyone who entered my home was sympathetic, sensitive, competent, and respectful. I think what stands out was the way your company understood, and expressed in its own way, the psychological damage that bed bugs inflict.
